‘All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small;
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.’
I marvel at the world we live in so often – the birds swinging on the feeders, and tapping on the windows to us. Mainly long-tailed tits that do the tapping, and though I call out ‘Hello’, I doubt they are really greeting Wendy and me. The Lake District, the spring flowers hour garden, the night sky… it’s never ending.
Teeth! I used to be fascinated at the way they developed from gum tissue, grew, calcified, had different well defined layers, and so on.
OK – I’m a creationist. Totally convinced, and the more I look around myself, or at myself, or into myself, the more convinced I become.
Last week we were staying with my daughter Naomi in Amsterdam. We went to a park with her and her husband Herman, and their four little daughters. Crested grebe, moorhens, coots, geese….
We also went to Keukenhof, a park with acres of bulbs, flowers, lakes, greenhouses, displays, etc. The beauty was stunning, and I really hope to get back there sometime. The lines of that hymn kept going through my thoughts – All things bright and beautiful…. the Lord God made them all.
